Dry & Wet Riser

Essential infrastructure for high-rise fire safety and compliance.
We install, maintain, and test dry and wet riser systems for high-rise buildings and complex sites where fire services require immediate access to a reliable water supply. These systems are essential in multi-storey properties, allowing firefighters to connect quickly and tackle fires from within the building. Our experienced engineers ensure every riser system is fully compliant with BS 9990 and all relevant building regulations — delivering dependable performance in situations where lives are on the line.
Whether you’re responsible for residential flats, commercial towers, or care environments, our teams ensure riser systems remain fully operational, clearly signed, and regularly serviced. We provide complete lifecycle support — from installation and pressure testing through to ongoing servicing, maintenance, and remedial works. All activity is recorded within our CAFM platform, delivering a full audit trail alongside proactive alerts for upcoming inspections and testing deadlines.

Dry Riser Systems

Dry risers are vertical pipe systems designed to deliver water to upper floors in buildings over 18 metres in height. Normally kept empty, they are charged with water by the fire service during an emergency. We install fully compliant dry riser systems, including inlet boxes, landing valves, and pipework engineered for rapid connection and reliable operation — ensuring firefighters can access water quickly and respond effectively when it matters most.

Wet Riser Systems

Wet risers are permanently charged systems that deliver pressurised water throughout a building and are typically used in structures over 50 metres in height. These systems rely on dedicated pumps and storage tanks to maintain a constant, reliable water supply. We design and install complete wet riser systems tailored to your building’s height, layout, and fire strategy, ensuring full compliance with all relevant fire safety standards and dependable performance in an emergency.

Maintenance & Testing

To remain compliant with BS 9990, dry risers require six-monthly visual inspections and annual pressure testing, while wet risers must also undergo regular pump and flow testing. Our planned maintenance service covers all required inspections, testing, remedial works, and certification — ensuring your riser systems remain compliant, safe, and fully prepared for emergency use at all times.

Remedials & Upgrades

If a riser system fails inspection or shows signs of deterioration, we carry out prompt remedial works — from valve replacements and pipe repairs through to full system upgrades. We also provide expert advice on bringing older installations up to current compliance standards. With VWS, potential risks are addressed early, helping you stay ahead of failure and maintain confidence in your fire protection systems.
