Graham McMonigle

CEO

Graham has dedicated over 30 years to the security industry, building extensive expertise across technical, commercial, and strategic functions. He began his career at VWS as an engineer, gaining valuable hands-on experience before being appointed Technical Director in 2006, a position he held for a decade. He went on to serve as Business Development Director until 2019, before spending three years overseeing the finance department to further broaden his leadership knowledge.

Recognised for his strong organisational, communication, and leadership capabilities, Graham was subsequently appointed Commercial Director and, in October 2024, promoted to Chief Executive Officer. As CEO, he is responsible for steering the company’s strategic direction, ensuring exceptional service delivery to existing clients, and driving sustainable growth in line with corporate objectives.

Lindsay Wilson

Managing Director

Lindsay joined VWS in 2007 as Service Manager and quickly advanced through his skilled approach to planning, operations, and customer service. His close collaboration with VWS’s technical and finance teams supported his progression to Operations Manager, before his appointment as Operations Director in 2018. In this role, he helped to strengthen the operational and technical leadership team while driving knowledge growth across the business.

With proven strengths in communication, organisation, and leadership, Lindsay was promoted to Managing Director in October 2024, working in joint responsibility with Graham, VWS’s Chief Executive Officer, and Chris, Chief Operations Officer. Together, they provide strategic direction for the company, focusing on customer service excellence, corporate compliance, and delivery of VWS’s long-term values and objectives.

Chris Scott

Chief Operating Officer

Chris Scott joined VWS in 2007 as an engineer and quickly stood out for his technical ability and commitment to service. His skills and dedication saw him promoted to supervisor early in his career, where he discovered a passion not only for problem-solving but also for developing and supporting those around him.

Throughout his career, Chris has built deep expertise across fire safety, security, and networking, while continuing to expand his knowledge through ongoing qualifications. He is equally passionate about teamwork and inclusion, believing that the best results come from diverse perspectives and a culture where everyone feels valued.

As Chief Operating Officer, Chris combines his technical knowledge with a collaborative leadership style that focuses on mentoring others, encouraging innovation, and building strong relationships with colleagues and clients. His passion, drive, and people-first approach help ensure VWS remains Scotland’s leading service provider in the fire safety, security, and networking industry.

Outside of work, Chris is known for his approachable nature and dedication to helping others succeed, qualities that inspire trust both within the VWS team and the wider industry.

Scott McKenzie

Estimator & Surveyor

Scott took over the operation of our Dundee office in 2006 and came to VWS as a very self-motivated engineer who had gained an in-depth knowledge of computing. His knowledge has helped VWS develop a service that delivers the complete package in this technology led industry. Aside from technical ability Scott has an excellent customer focussed attitude that is proven by the large number of repeat custom he generates.

Andrew McMillan

Estimator & Surveyor

Drew began his career in the security industry over 20 years ago, driven by a strong passion for the sector and a commitment to continuous learning. He joined VWS as an engineer in April 2011 and, through hard work and dedication, advanced within the company—first moving into the role of Estimator within the Sales Department and later progressing to Surveyor.

With the support of VWS’s comprehensive training and development programmes—including in-house, manufacturer-led, and industry-standard courses—Drew has continually enhanced his technical expertise and broadened his professional knowledge. Today, he is a valued member of the Design and Estimating team at VWS Facilities.

Throughout his career at VWS, Drew has successfully delivered a wide range of complex and challenging projects. He thrives in collaborative, cross-functional environments and has often taken the lead in building strong relationships with new and existing clients, helping them achieve their objectives and ensuring successful project outcomes.

Stuart Sneddon

Compliance Manager

With over 20 years of experience in the fire and security industry, Stuart began his career as an electrician, building a strong foundation in electrical systems before moving into fire and security. Progressing from a service engineer to a senior commissioning engineer, Stuart gained extensive technical expertise and vast knowledge across the industry, successfully leading teams on a wide range of complex projects.

In his current role as Compliance Manager, Stuart combines strong leadership skills with deep industry knowledge to ensure all systems meet the highest standards, while also overseeing the design and development of new projects. His journey reflects a proven ability to lead, a commitment to safety and compliance, and a drive for continuous professional growth within the fire and security sector.

 

Debbie Lafferty

Finance Manager

Debbie is a results-driven Finance Manager with over 20 years progressive experience in financial planning, budgeting, analysis, and reporting, including 4 years in a managerial role, she is skilled in developing and implementing strategies that optimize financial performance, strengthen internal controls, and support long-term business growth. Debbie has a proven ability to manage end-to-end accounting; she is experienced in streamlining reporting processes and providing data-driven insights to guide executive decision-making. Adept at leading cross-functional teams, ensuring accuracy in payroll and financial reporting, and leveraging technology to improve efficiency. Recognized for strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to solving complex financial challenges.

Simon Cannon

Head of Facilities Services

Simon Cannon, MInstR, MCIBSE, CIWFM, is a seasoned engineering and facilities services professional with over three decades of expertise in M&E, HVAC, compliance, and project delivery. He commenced his career as an Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Engineer in 1996, progressing into senior leadership roles with esteemed multinational corporations. For the past fifteen months, Simon has held the position of Head of Facilities Services at VWS Ltd, where he oversees multi-disciplinary teams responsible for delivering compliance, refurbishment, and significant M&E projects across Scotland and Northern England.

A Chartered Engineer and member of CIBSE, CIWFM, and the Institute of Refrigeration, Simon also holds a NEBOSH Construction qualification, demonstrating a strong understanding of CDM 2015. He is dedicated to delivering safe, sustainable, and innovative solutions, while mentoring teams and driving continuous improvement in accordance with industry standards and net-zero objectives.

 

Calum Finlayson

Service and Maintenance Manager

Starting as a Business Administration Apprentice in 2017, Calum has grown with VWS to become a key member of the team and now leads as Service & Maintenance Manager. In this role, he ensures our systems run smoothly, coordinates maintenance efficiently, and responds quickly to customer needs to keep operations on track. Calum is passionate about delivering exceptional service, building lasting relationships, and supporting the growth of those around him.
